APC youths meet over Jega’s fate, vow to take legal action if he’s sacked

The Youth Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that it would consider taking legal action if the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega, is removed.

The APC National Youth Leader, Jalo Dasuki, made the statement on Thursday in Abuja at a news conference on the sidelines of a meeting of all zonal, state and national youth leaders of the party.

However, the Federal Government had since denied any plan to remove Jega as President Goodluck Jonathan asked Nigerians to disregard the unfounded rumour.

Dasuki said the party has remained calm after the announcement of the election postponement because of its commitment to peace.

“We accepted the postponement in good fate and as law abiding citizens of Nigeria.

“Jega should be allowed to conduct the elections and go. We are here to brainstorm, synergise and take necessary steps to ensure victory on March 28,” Dasuki said.
