I Appeal To Nigerians To Wait Patiently For INEC To Announce Results – Jonathan

Incumbent President Jonathan on Sunday appealed to all Nigerians to wait patiently for INEC to collate results of Saturday’s elections.

Writing to Nigerians from his official facebook page, Jonathan said, “We waited patiently to vote in these elections, now I want to urge all Nigerians to also wait patiently for the Independent National Electoral Commission to collate and announce results.

“We must ensure that we do not get involved in acts that breach our peaceful co-existence that we patriotically demonstrated during the elections.

“May God bless Nigeria.”

The statement of president Jonathan was highly necessary considering the rate of violence that has escalated in few states. For instance, the INEC office in River state was razed down by angry mobs, some electoral adhoc staffs were reported to have been killed in some northern states, and Benue.
