The Nigerian Immigration Service in Bauchi State has repatriated 43 foreigners residing in the state without valid documents.
According to the NIS, the exercise is part of efforts to ensure security of lives and property during the 2015 general elections.
The state Comptroller of Immigration, Odeji Ejukwule Usman, who spoke to reporters said out of the 43 foreigners, who were arrested from differewnt locations in the state, 37 are from Niger Republic, three from Cameroun and three from Mali.
He added that apart from the fact that they came into the country through illegal means, they also do not have jobs.
The comptroller urged them to obtain legal documents if they want to return to the country.
He also reiterated the agency’s commitment to ensuring a crime free atmosphere during the forthcoming general elections.
