PDP’ll give women 45% affirmative –First Lady

Patience Jonathan

The wife of the President, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, has said that women will get 45 per cent affirmative action if the Peoples Democratic Party wins the next presidential election.
Speaking during the presidential women rally in Uyo on Friday, she said President Godluck Jonathan’s administration had fulfilled its promise of giving women 35 per cent affirmation action.
She, however, said
when the All Progressive Congress presidential candidate, Maj-Gen Muhammadu Buhari, had the opportunity to LEAD the country as head of state, he did not have the interest of women at heart.
The First Lady mentioned the empowerment schemes of Jonathan’s government to include Youwin programme.
According to her, re-electing Jonathan is the only way Nigeria can sustain the programme.
Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Akpabio, assured that the people of the state would not deliver anything short of 1.5m votes for the PDP in the forthcoming elections.
The wife of the Vice-President, Hajiya Amina Sambo, described Jonathan as a gender-friendly President.
