The story of Adam Koessler and his daughter, Rumer Rose Maujean, is one of love that has recently become tainted by the intervention of the law. The Australian family's lives had been struck by cancer as Rumer's condition deterioated. Her father began researching anything that would help his daughter and came upon the merits of cannibis oil, which he began administering to her last year.

The medicinal applications for cannibis oil have been a source of heated debate during recent times. Whilst it appears that it can certainly aid in alleviating associated suffering of condtions such as cancer, it of course a very highly concentrated form of marijuana. Despite this, the desperate dad decided to use it anyway, and was obviosuly ellated at the improvement observed as a result of the oil's used.

"It was nothing short of miraculous," the man told the Newcastle Herald. "Her cancer-ridden little body was alive again – Rumer had almost instant quality of life".
"She would say ‘Daddy, tummy’s not sore’ and she would be able to eat like a champion and began to gain weight," said Koessler.

Despite many parts of the world becoming aware fo the medicinal applications and benefits of the use of marijuana, in particular cannibis oil, it remains illegal within Australia. It was for this reason that Koessler was arrested for illegal possession of the banned substance as well as for administering it to his daughter. Sadly, the father was subsequently barred from seeing his daughter. It took only a day for a petition to begin in opposition. Organised by Change.org, it garnered a total of over 140,000 signatures.

Mr Koessler was banned from seeing his daughter from the 2nd of January onwards however, not a week later, the loving father violated the terms and conditions of his bail and went to see her at the hospital. Reports said that despite the police being called, the boys in blue chose not to intervene and allowed the man to spend time with his young child.
