Athlete lost race while celebrating too early

                               

This athlete celebrated too early and a more determined and no nonsense athlete dusted him to the finish line.

Tanguy Pepiot from the University of Oregon was guilty of a premature celebration, playing to the crowd in the final 100 metres of the steeplechase before being taken by surprise.

Washington’s Meron Simon was hurtling towards the finish line, and just pipped Pepiot to the finish.

It’s certainly humbling, but as the commentator points out, he will never make that mistake again cos you know what wise man said “once beaten, twice shy”.
