Gov. Chime of Enugu State Impeachment update

                              Sullivan Chime
The Enugu State Government has reacted to reports of impeachment proceedings against Governor of the state, Sullivan Chime by a faction of the State’s House of Assembly.
According to the state government, it is unaware of any impeachment process against Gov. Sullivan Chime.

The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Chukwudi Achife, made this known in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu.
Governor Chime is accused of high handedness and corrupt enrichment.
However, the governor’s spokesperson, Mr. Achife, described the action the 15-member faction of the assembly as “null and void”.
According to him, the state government was still trying to come to terms with the realities of a change in the leadership of the house.
However, just as  Governor Chime prepares to handover to the governor-elect, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, reports say he has already moved out of the Enugu state Government House.
