A businesswoman who was nearly killed by her ex-partner during a ferocious attack has blasted police after they grilled her for an hour over claims she harassed his family.
Zoe Dronfield, 38, was battered so badly by Jason Smith, 31, that she needed hypnosis to help bring him to justice.
The eight-hour assault on February 2 last year was so severe, she was left with a brain bleed and a stab wound on her neck. When she regained consciousness she found Smith cutting his wrists in a suicide bid, but she had no memory of the assault.
Her testimony was then was used in court to help a jury convict Smith of grievous bodily harm with intent and criminal damage, leading to Smith being jailed for ten years at Warwick Crown Court just over a month ago.
