The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced on Friday that the Super Eagles will play a friendly game against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Sunday, March 29.
The match, which comes a little over four months after a 2-2 draw in Uyo between the two teams meant Nigeria failed to qualify for the 30th Africa Cup of Nations finals in Equatorial Guinea, will take place at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
The venue hosted Nigeria’s first two matches at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations – 1-1 draws against Burkina Faso and Zambia – before the Eagles went all the way to lift the trophy for the first time in 19 years.
Both teams are preparing for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying series. The two last met in South Africa in a qualifying match for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, which ended scoreless in Cape Town.
