Ideye out of Uganda, South Africa friendlies

Injury has forced Nigerian international Brown Ideye not to make his return to the Super Eagles for the  friendlies against the Cranes of Uganda and the Bafana Bafana of South Africa later this week, officials have disclosed.

Ideye last Saturday missed his English Premier League club’s clash against Manchester City due to an injury that will sideline him for a week.
Nigeria’s team spokesman Toyin Ibitoye said the West Brom striker has pulled out of the matches against Uganda and South Africa as a result of this development.
“A minor injury has forced Brown Ideye to pull out of the Super Eagles friendlies against Uganda and South Africa. It’s only a minor setback for him. We all know it would have been a good return to the international fold after a long absence. But his health is more important. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see Ideye when the Nations Cup qualifiers start in June,” Ibitoye said.
Ideye, who is having four EPL goals so far was dropped from the squad to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, but was recalled by Nigeria caretaker coach Daniel Amokachi for the  friendlies against Uganda on Wednesday in Uyo, and in South Africa on Sunday, March 29.
