There have been mixed reactions to the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to ban the African Independent Television (AIT) from covering his activities.
The order which took effect on Monday, April 27, was enforced when members of an AIT team, who were at the Defence House to cover a meeting between the president-elect and a visiting Cuban delegation, were asked to leave.
During the presidential electoral campaign AIT was condemned for airing a documentary, “The Real Buhari”, which showed the former military ruler‘sregime in the 1980s as a reign of terror.

Before you demonise the President-Elect, remember that AIT ran a most defamatory documentary filled with the nastiest lies against him.
Just because AIT is a media company doesn't mean it can't be a security threat to the President-elect. We know what it is capable of doing.
AIT was denied access to the President elect, how is that a breach of #PressFreedom? Has AIT been stopped from broadcasting what they like?
