The Niger and Chadian army today launched a “ground and air” offensive against the Islamist Boko Haram group in northeastern Nigeria.
This is according to a source from the Niger government.
The source told AFP: “An offensive is underway against Boko Haram”. “Very early this morning, the troops from Niger and Chad began an offensive against Boko Haram… in the area of Bosso and near to Diram.”
This is coming as Chadian forces revealed that the Nigerian army has limited their advance into Nigerian land to wipe out Boko Haram.
