Tinubu plots to succeed Buhari when Osinbajo steps down – PDP

Director, media and publicity of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign organisation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Bola Tinubu is planning to seize power from his party’s presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) if he is elected.

While briefing newsmen in Abuja last night, Fani-Kayode expressed confidence that Buhari would not win the election for Tinubu to perpetrate the ‘barbaric’ act, adding that whoever was engaged in the plot to do so should desist in order not to plunge the country into anarchy and confusion.

“You will recall how Senator Tinubu wanted to be running mate to General Muhammadu Buhari in spite of the nationwide resentment for Muslim-Muslim ticket that he and General Buhari planned to foist on their party men and women. Senator Tinubu had justified the ticket by saying that competence was the important thing and not the issue of religion,” Fani-Kayode stated.

“But when he and General Buhari could not push through the agenda within the APC, he (Senator Tinubu), after being given the opportunity to nominate a vice presidential candidate, decided to prop up his stooge in the person of Professor Osinbajo.

“The ultimate objective of this plot is to ensure that Tinubu becomes President. The script is simple: given the questionable health of General Buhari, Senator Tinubu who is desperate to be president for his own selish reasons will simply bid his time in the evil expectation that General Buhari will not be able to go the whole hog. Our candid advice to General Buhari is: Watch Your Back. Our prayer is that God will save Nigeria from desperate politicians,” he said.

5 tips for stronger nails What gal should do to ensure her nails stay strong

We all love to get manicures, and there's nothing like sporting the hottest new nail polish colors and latest mani trends. But it sucks when your shiny newly manicured nails break halfway to your next appointment. What's a gal to do to ensure her nails stay strong and avoid breaking?

1.
Keep nails and cuticles well moisturized. One of the causes of breaking nails is the lack of hydration, which causes the nails to get dry and eventually crack. Using a good hand moisturizer and gentle oil on your nail bed and cuticles should help prevent your nails from wear and tear. Drinking enough water daily will also keep your nails adequately hydrated.

2.
Watch your diet. Eating a well balanced diet will give you the proper amount of vitamins for your body (and nails) to perform at optimal levels. A diet rich in calcium has been shown to be good for bones and nails. Some people even take multivitamins or supplements, such as biotin, to help improve their nail strength.

3.
Wear hand gloves during chores.Whether you're washing dishes in the kitchen or doing a load of laundry, wearing protective gloves over your hands will help to keep your nails from damage.

4.
Don't wear tight shoes. Let's not forget our toe nails. Wearing shoes that are too small or have a very pointy cap can cause your toe nails to break. Get shoes that are comfortable while stylish, and give your toe nails a break.

5.
While filing your nails, you may be used to doing it in a back and forth motion. That will only cause weakened edges, which will eventually cause breakage. File your nails in one direction only.

Man arrested in Jigawa over attempt to murder rival over girlfriend

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa Command, said on Wednesday that it had arrested a 23-year-old man over attempted murder of one Kabiru Jos.

The state Commandant of the corps, Mr Muhammad Gidado, told NAN in Dutse that the suspect, Kabiru Saidu, was arrested on Tuesday in Kiyawa Local Government Area.

Gidado said Saidu, a resident of Gudduba village, stabbed Jos with a knife during a disagreement over a girlfriend at Lagujiji village, also in Kiyawa Local Government Area.

“The suspect purportedly stabbed the victim with knife as a result of which he sustained serious injury,” he said.

The commandant said the victim was taken to Dutse General Hospital for medical attention and later referred to Rasheed Shekoni Specialist Hospital due to the degree of the injury he sustained.

Gidado said investigation into the incident had commenced, after which the suspect would be taken to court.

South Korea Legalises Adultery

South Korea’s Constitutional Court has thrown out 60-year-old statute outlawing adultery under which those found guilty face up to two years in prison.

The nine-member bench ruled by seven to two says the 1953 law was unconstitutional in a judgement handed down on Thursday.

The court held that adultery was a private matter in which the State should not intervene.

According to the presiding judge, Park Han-Chul “even if adultery should be condemned as immoral, state power should not intervene in individuals’ private lives.”

It was the fifth time the Apex court had considered the constitutional legality of the legislation which had made South Korea one of the few non-Muslim countries to regard marital infidelity as a criminal act.

In the past six years, close to 5,500 people have been formerly arraigned on adultery charges – including nearly 900 in 2014.

The numbers had been falling, with cases that end in prison terms increasingly rare.

In 2004, 216 people were jailed under the law in 2004. That figure had dropped to 42 by 2008, and since then only 22 have found themselves behind bars, according to figures from the state prosecution office.

Court Cases On Buhari Certificate Controversy Reaches 10

The number of cases filed against the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), over alleged non-submission of his academic certificates to the Independent National Electoral Commission, has risen to at least 10.
Our correspondent confirmed 10 of the cases on Wednesday though more suits might have been filed.

Eight of the 10 confirmed suits are before the Federal High Court in Abuja, one before a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Abuja and one other before the Federal High Court in Umuahia, Abia State.

The one before the Chief Magistrate’s Court, a direct criminal complaint, is seeking the trial of Buhari for alleged perjury for making a false claim on oath of possessing academic qualifications.

The suit, before Chief Magistrate Abubakar Babashani of the FCT Magistrate Court, wants Buhari “to be brought to book” for allegedly claiming on oath that he had a certificate he did not obtain.”

The four complainants are Shield Ufot, Jimmy David, Ogueri Enwerem and Tochukwu Okorie.

Ufot said on Wednesday that the suit was filed on behalf of the Niger Delta Salvation Front.

In their suit, the complainants claimed that Buhari, “with intent to mislead a public officer as to compliance with the provisions of Section 31 of the Electoral Act, 2010 deposed to various affidavits in the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, wherein he stated that he attended Katsina Provincial Secondary School, Katsina State and obtained a West African School Certificate and that the certificates he claimed to have obtained are with the Nigerian Army.”

“That the Nigerian Army, in whose custody Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) claim the certificates are, issued a statement and denied being in possession of the school certificates,” the plaintiffs added.

But the plaintiffs in the nine other suits are seeking court order disqualifying the opposition presidential candidate in the March 28 poll.

The cases before the Federal High Court in Abuja are seeking the disqualification of Buhari as a presidential candidate.

The cases are: FHC/ABJ/CS/116/15 (between Hon Donald Daunemigha v. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari); FHC/ABJ/CS/13/15 (Hon. Sergin Onuka Ibe v. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari); FHC/ABJ/CS/01/15 (Mr. Chukwunweike Okafor vs Buhari and two others); and FHC/ABJ/CS/14/15 (Barr. Max Ozoka v. Buhari and two others).

They also include FHC/ABJ/CS/3/15 (Barr. Friday Ojealaro V. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and two others; FHC/ABJ/CS/20/15 (Barr. Friday Ojealaro V. Buhari and three others) and FHC/ABJ/CS/68/15 (Ayakeme Whiskey vs INEC and another).

The above mentioned cases are before Justice Adeniyi Ademola.

Another case before the Federal High Court in Abuja seeking Buhari’s disqualification was filed on February 10, 2015 by Presidential View and Endorsement Platform and Barr. Smart Iheazor (FHC/ABJ/CS/1040/15). The defendants in the suit are Buhari and INEC.

The one before the Federal High Court in Umuahia was filed by Selekaye Victor Ben against Buhari and the Nigerian Army. The suit is numbered FHC/ABJ/CS/114/2015.

Senate slashes subsidies on kerosene, petrol

The Senate on Wednesday slashed the allocation for petrol and kerosene subsidies presented by the Ministry of Finance in the Medium Term Expenditure Framework for 2015-2017.

The upper chamber, while approving the MTEF, slashed petrol subsidy from N200bn to N100bn.

It also reduced the subsidy allocated to kerosene from N91.08bn to N45.52bn.

Chairman of the Joint Committee on Finance and National Planning; Economic Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Sen. Ahmed Makarfi, said the reduction was due to the fall in oil prices at the international market.

“The joint committee recommends a downward review of subsidy payment for PMS from N200bn to N100bn and kerosene from N91.08bn to N45.52bn. This is as a result of the current low prices in crude oil prices at the international oil market.

“The relevant committees of the National Assembly should through oversight, ensure the full implementation of the proposed kerosene subsidy and the availability and of the product,” he said.

Makarfi also said the reduction in the subsidy allocations to petrol reflected government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in the entire oil and gas sector.

In his remarks, the Senate President, David Mark, said there was the need for a budget cut across the three arms of government in view of the current economic reality.

Mark said the government must continue with its reform policy in order to promote the growth of the non-oil sector.

He expressed delight on the expeditious passage of the MTEF, adding that “this is the kind of cooperation required to build our nation.’’

Court nullifies FAAN ex-GM’s sacking, orders four-year salary payment

The National Industrial Court in Lagos has declared as wrongful and unlawful the dismissal of a former General Manager, Legal Services, with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Mahmud Alabidun.

The ex-GM was suddenly relieved of his job sometime in October 2011 after working for four years with the agency.

The management of FAAN, under the watch of the then Aviation Minister, Mrs. Stalla Oduah, said Alabidun was dismissed as “he did not fit into the Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan in the Aviation sector.”

But Alabidun had headed for the court contesting the legality of his sacking. In his suit marked NICN/ LA/74/2014, he joined President Goodluck Jonathan and Oduah as first and second defendants respectively.

The sacked GM urged the court to determine “whether the power conferred on the President to appoint and remove persons from public office extends to the plaintiff’s office as the General Manager, Legal, with the Federal
Airports Authority of Nigeria.”

He prayed the court to invalidate his sacking and award a cost of N1bn againt the President and Oduah in their official capacities “for unlawfully interfering with the plaintiff’s employment as a public servant.”

In their objection, however, the defendants said, “the claimant was relieved of his position as General Manager, Legal of FAAN in 2011 along with others, who the Interim Board believed, after a careful study, could not fit into the
Transformation Agenda in the Aviation sector of the current administration.”

But ruling in the matter, Justice Benedict Kanyip said the reason adduced for Alabidun’s sacking was not justified.

He said the defendants did not show the nature of restructuring carried out within FAAN that necessitated the plaintiff’s sacking.

The judge said the defendants’ claim could not succeed since the office of the GM, Legal Services was not scrapped upon Alabidun’s sacking.

The judge said, “The claimant in the instant case was the General Manager, Legal Services. In disengaging him from his employment, was the office he occupied scrapped in order to justify the re-oganisation? The defendants did
not tell the court. If anything, Exhibit MBA5 in paragraph 2 had even asked the claimant to hand over the affairs of his unit to the Deputy Manager, Legal Services, presupposing thereby that the office of the General Manager, Legal, was still intact.

“All of this means that the defendants have not succeeded in justifying the reasons for which the claimant was disengaged, and I so find and hold!”

Kanyip therefore ordered that the claimant’s full salaries from October 4, 2011 to April 29, 2015 be paid to him within the 30 days of the judgment.

The court also awarded N50,000 as cost against the defendants, adding that failure to pay as ordered the judgment sum would attract interest at an annual rate of 10 per cent.

Has Mourinho made the biggest mistake of his career?

Last weekend Chelsea were held to a draw against Burnley with refereeing mistakes playing their part. Therefore is Jose Mourinho’s ‘campaign against Chelsea’ agenda having a negative effect on decisions on the pitch?

Mourinho has been vocal in his frustration at recent decisions that have gone against Chelsea claiming that there was a campaign from the media and the FA against the club.  If he was looking for more evidence, it was served up in spades at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Burnley game saw Chelsea denied two clear penalties in the first half. Whilst Nemanja Matic was sent off for retaliating after a leg-breaker challenge from Ashley Barnes that went unpunished. This left Chelsea with a solitary goal cushion to defend with 10 men and they were unable to hold on.

In his post match press conference, Mourinho refused to discuss the incidents instead citing the minutes of the key incidents that went against Chelsea.

Instead he did something unprecedented and chose to give an in-depth interview of more than 17 minutes on Sky Sports show Goals on Sunday.

During the interview he admitted he could miss the Capital One Cup Final due to anticipated FA disciplinary action in response to his interview with Ben Shepherd and Chris Kamara.

Mourinho has successfully set up a siege mentality within the Chelsea camp with the talk of a ‘campaign’ however it puts extra scrutiny and pressure on referees of Chelsea games and this could be having the opposite effect to what was intended.

Referees under this pressure may be slightly reluctant to give big decisions to Chelsea for the fear that should they get it wrong that the FA and referees would be accused of succumbing to pressure from Chelsea and Jose Mourinho.

So although a siege mentality may drive Chelsea forward the effect on the decisions themselves may actually be worse than if nothing was said.

GENEVIEVE NNAJI ACQUIRES MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR MANSION IN GHANA

According to City People magazine, prolific Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji, has purchased a new property in Accra, the Ghanaian capital.

It was reported that the Imo State-born screen diva recently got herself a mansion, which was said to have cost her around $4million to get, going by the estimation of property experts and valuers.

The said property is said to be located around the Achimota area of Accra and well guarded by a security firm.

Already, some people are asking if the actress is planning to relocate to Ghana ahead of the forthcoming general election in Nigeria.

Genevieve is one of the top movie stars in Nigeria. She is brand ambassador to big brands in Nigeria. Genny, as she is fondly called, is a single mother of one. In one of her interviews, she disclosed her fears to get married because she is scared of divorce, which has plagued the movie industry in Nigeria.

Naira weakens on tight dollar liquidity.

The unit closed at N200.60 to the dollar, weaker than Friday’s close of N199.50. The naira traded at N215 to the dollar at the parallel market, operated by Bureau de Change agents.

The naira crashed through a psychologically important level of N200 to the dollar this month in a rout triggered by weak oil prices and escalating tension over the postponement of a presidential election in Nigeria, prompting the CBN to scrap its bi-weekly forex auctions.

Plane Runs Off Taxiway at D/FW International Airport

An American Airlines plane taxiing to Terminal C at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport slid off the taxiway and got stuck in the grass Monday night.

Airline officials said there were 63 passengers and a crew of five onboard Flight 296 from San Antonio. All of the passengers were deplaned safely and taken by bus to the terminal.  The plane, an MD-80, as to then be dislodged and towed.
No injuries have been reported.
"As soon as we hit the ground, we slid to the left," said passenger Danelle Canales, of Dallas.
Canales said she was reading a book and didn't at first realize what had happened. Then the pilot came on over the public address speaker, explained the situation and said, "We tested the brakes and they were fine, but when we landed, we had no control over the brakes."
Canales said another passengers told her they could see the front wheel turned to the side.

Airline officials have not confirmed what caused the plane to slip off the taxiway, however up to an inch of sleet fell on North Texas overnight Monday covering much of the Metroplex in ice.  Since that time, DFW Airport's Airfield Operations crew has been working to keep runways open and taxiways clear of ice.
The airline canceled more than 1,000 flights Monday due to weather.
A man who said his friend was a passsnger on the flight tweeted a photo of passengers exiting the aircraft through the emergency exit at the back of the plane.

Keshi to be offered new Super Eagles’ contract on Wednesday – NFF

The President of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick, said on Monday that Stephen Keshi would be handed a new Super Eagles’ coaching contract on Wednesday.

Pinnick made this known in an interview with newsmen in Abuja.

He said that it would be left for Keshi to either accept or reject the contract.

It would be recalled that Keshi had been out of job following the expiration of his contract with the Super Eagles at the end of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

“We have just finalised his contract, which will be sent to him tomorrow (today) he will look at it and if he agrees, then on Wednesday he starts work.

“We have done everything. The only reason why it stayed this long is because we don’t want litigation.

“We have to look at everything that will protect him and the NFF which we also think is the best for the country and that is exactly what we have done.

“So, after looking at the contract, he signs it if he agrees to it and he is ready to roll,” Pinnick said.

The NFF boss explained that Keshi had the right to choose between the Super Eagles’ job and that of the Stallions of Burkina Faso which he applied to coach.

Pinnick added, “Keshi is a man that has his choice; if what we are offering him is not better than what the Burkina Faso is offering him and he wishes to go to Burkina Faso, then, it’s unfortunate.

“We are not going to hold him because, if for example, as you are working with a media organization and CNN say they want you, wont you go?”

He said that the NFF board meeting scheduled to hold on March 3 was to review the activities of the football house in the last six months.

Pinnick added that the meeting would also make projections for the remaining part of the year.

10yr Old Nigerian Girl Accepted On University Course In The UK To Study Maths Degree.

Esther okade spends her spare time in a similar way to many other ten-year-old girls - playing with Barbie dolls and making loom bands. But the key difference between Esther Okade and other children her age is that she has been accepted to study for a university maths degree - despite not going to school.
Esther, from Walsall, West Midlands, has enrolled on an Open University course months after she passed her A-levels - and wants to study for a PhD before running her own bank.

The girl, who gained a C grade in her maths GCSE aged six, has joined the course which started this month. Her younger brother Isiah is already studying for his A-levels - also aged six.
The siblings are both home-schooled by their mother Omonefe, who has converted the living room of their semi-detached, three-bedroom house into a makeshift classroom.

Mathematician Mrs Okade, 37, said: ‘Esther is doing so well. She took a test recently and scored 100 per cent. Applying to the university was an interesting process because of her age.

‘We even had to talk to the vice-chancellor. After they interviewed her they realised that this has been her idea from the beginning. From the age of seven Esther has wanted to go to university.

‘But I was afraid it was too soon. She would say, “Mum, when am I starting?”, and go on and on and on. Finally, after three years she told me, “Mum, I think it is about time I started university now”.’

Mrs Okade added that Esther - who will study for her degree at home - was ‘flying’ and ‘so happy’ when she was accepted by the university, and wants to be a millionaire.

She said: ‘For now we want her to enjoy her childhood as well as her maths. By the time she was four I had taught her the alphabet, her numbers, and how to add, subtract, multiply and division.

‘I saw that she loved patterns so developed a way of using that to teach her new things. I thought I would try her with algebra, and she loved it more than anything.’

Esther stunned her parents last year when she achieved a B grade in her pure maths A-level.
She applied to the Open University last August - and after a phone interview, an essay and an exam, she was told in December that she had been accepted onto the course.

Her father Paul, 42, a managing director, added: ‘I cannot tell you how happy and proud I am as a father. The desire of every parent is to see their children exceed them, and take the family name to great heights, and my children have done just that.’

Again, FG arraigns Faruk Lawan over $620,000 scam

Erstwhile chairman of the House of Representative Committee Monitoring Fuel Subsidy, Faruk Lawal, was again arraigned before a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court at Lugbe, Abuja.

Faruk was arraigned on a three-count charge of obtaining money from the chairman of Zenon Petroleum and Gas, Femi Otedola, sometimes in April, 2012.

The accused, who was docked for obtaining the sum of $500,000 as inducement from Otedola to remove the name of his company from those indicted in the subsidy scam pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge.

Prosecuting counsel, Adeboyega Awomolo, told Justice A.O. Otaluka that he was withdrawing the charges against the second accused person, Emmanuel Emenalo and is ready to arraign Faruk Lawan for the offence.

Justice Otaluka consequently dropped the charges against Emenalo and ordered the prosecution to retain his international passport and other travel documents.

Defence counsel, Ricky Tarfa, applied for bail on liberal grounds for Lawan. Ruling on the bail application, Justice Otaluka granted Lawan bail in the sum of N10million and sureties in like sum.

The judge ordered that Faruk’s international passport and all travel documents must be deposited before the court registrar, while the sureties must be property owners in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja and must all be a level 14 officers in the employment of the Federal Government.

The trial judge further ordered that the accused should seek the permission of the court before travelling out of Nigeria.

Justice Otaluka also ordered that Lawan be remanded in prison custody until all the bail conditions are met, and consequently adjourned the case till April 15 and 16, for the trial to begin.

Ex-minister, Onyebuchi, sues PDP over Ebonyi gov poll

Former Minister of Health and governorship candidate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, has approached a Federal High Court in Abakaliki with a suit seeking an order directing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to expunge Chief Dave Umahi from the list of the governorship candidates cleared for the forthcoming general election.

He is contending that Umahi emerged the party’s candidate in breach of section 87 of the Electoral Act 2010 and relevant provisions of the 1999 Constitution.

Professor Onyebuchi, in an originating summons filed on his behalf by Awa Kalu, is also requesting for a separate order directing the Ebonyi chapter of the PDP to conduct a fresh primary election in the state.

Onyebuchi, in the summons, formulated six questions for determination, including whether he is not entitled to participate in the December 8, 2014 primary poll held in the state by the Ebonyi chapter of PDP after he had been cleared and screened for the poll.

In an accompanying affidavit supporting the originating motion, Onyebuchi explained that he was a bonafide member of the PDP who resigned his appointment as the Federal Minister of Health in response to public interest to contest governorship election in the state.

He said he obtained the expression of interest form together with nomination form before submitting himself to a panel by the PDP for the South-East geopolitical zone in Enugu, which screened him and issued him a clearance certificate with registration number 0001273.

He said he was warming up to participate in the poll when it emerged that the Ebonyi State chapter of the party had substituted the authentic delegates' list with a different list contrary to the party’s guidelines.

The former minister alleged, in the suit, that the delegates' list was designed to produce a pre-arranged governorship candidate.

Professor Onyebuchi, who kicked against the substitution of the authentic delegates' list, said he wrote a petition to the highest authorities in the PDP which compelled a series of meetings at the highest level of the political party during which the state governor publicly announced that all primary elections in the state had been suspended pending resolution of the dispute on the delegates' list.

He also said the PDP subsequently set up a reconciliation committee headed by Akwa Ibom governor, which sat in Abuja between December 3 and 4, 2014, but that no report had been issued on the issue till date.

He added that notwithstanding the fact that the directive of the state governor suspending the primary election indefinitely was still extant, the Ebonyi chapter of the PDP still went ahead to conduct the primary poll which produced Chief Umahi as candidate.

Prof Onyebuchi said that he never participated in the poll on the account that the primary poll would not hold until the issue on the delegates list had been finally resolved, adding that, INEC had already cleared Umahi notwithstanding the circumstances surrounding his emergence.

He said the frustration occasioned on him compelled him to do a petition to the National Chairman of the party which he purportedly did not dignify with a response and the development made him to approach the court for determination of six fundamental questions including whether or not he was not entitled to participate in thr poll after he had been cleared; whether the procedure for nomination and sponsorship of candidates for elective offices is not within the exclusive domain of section 87 and provisions of the 1999 constitution.

Nigerian arrested for allegedly forcing Cebu cop to do oral sex on him

Reports reaching us is that a Nigerian was arrested inside a mall here Sunday evening after he allegedly tried to force a police official to perform oral sex on him inside a men’s room.

The suspect, Ghukmelie Ezeal, 30, allegedly was not aware that the man whom he allegedly tried to sexually abuse was Inspector Eugenio Bacalso Teves, 52.

Ezeal allegedly grabbed the head of Teves, a resident of Barangay (village) Labangon and assigned at Fuente police station, and tried to force it down his crotch.

Ezeal was eventually arrested and will be facing string of criminal charges.

The incident happened when both of them were inside the men’s room of a parking area near the terrace at the Cebu Business Park past 6 p.m.

In an interview, Teves said Ezeal, a temporary resident of the Missionary in Barangay Talamban, was already in the toilet when he got inside. He was standing in front of the urinal bowl.

This prompted Teves to tell him “sorry” when he opened the toilet’s door. Teves then proceeded to another bowl inside the same men’s room and urinated.

Tevez said that when he tried to leave the room, Ezeal grabbed his head an d pulled it down towards his crotch.

“Nahibung ko nga nagbarog nga nagpagawas sa iyaha sa akong atobangan, gikuptan akong dayong iyang gibira sa ubos,” (He was standing with his private part out and he pulled my hair downwards), said Teves.

Teves who was in civilian attire said he resisted but admitted that his lips almost touched Ezeal’s private part. “Duol na jud kaayo”, (almost there) he told reporters.

Teves then introduced himself as a police officer, prompting Ezael to curse him. “You’re a monkey,” Tevez quoted Ezael as saying.

Ezaell is 6’3 and Teves is 5’4 in height. Teves was overpowered during the attack. Ezael then ran out of the men’s room and into the mall and he was eventually arrested by security guards who helped Teves.

At the time of the attack, Teves’ wife, child and a family friend were outside the men’s room waiting for him.

Chief Supt. Prudencio “Tom” Bañas, chief of Police Regional Office (PRO-7) has ordered the Mabolo police station, which has jurisdiction over the Cebu Business Park, to file all appropriate charges against Ezael.

Bañas said he did not want the attack on Teves to be repeated.

He said he would coordinate with the Bureau of Immigration to have Ezeal eventually deported to his country.

Chief Inspector Weldimar Tui, chief of the Fuente police station said they would file complaints of grave oral defamation, direct assault, acts of lasciviousness, resistance and disobedience to an agent of person in authority against Ezael.

When Ezeal was brought to the Mabolo police station, he apologized to Teves but the latter was firm in pressing charges against the Nigerian national.

Tui warned foreigners who thought they could get away with acts such as Ezeal’s: “They should not do it here.”

This is how much Lupita Nyong'o's Oscars dress cost to make

One might argue that the best part of the annual Academy Awards is the people watching, specifically the people on the red carpet watching. Case in point: last year’s Best Supporting Actress Lupita Nyong’o, who is getting a lot of attention this morning for the dress she wore to the event.

Made by Calvin Klein, it apparently sported 6,000 pearls. How much could such an outfit cost?

According to website Pearl Paradise, a loose white Akoya pearl retails for around $100—through the site offers it for $25. Assuming that Calvin Klein’s designers are paying wholesale, it’s safe to assume $25 per pearl. That means that, on pearls alone, the dress cost $150,000 to make.

This, of course, doesn’t take into consideration the other materials used, the designers’ time or other labor costs. Whatever the actual cost, it’s not something you’re likely to find off the rack any time soon. And there’s no accounting for the value of Nyong’o making a splash in it on live TV.
