Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has appealed to members of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria against allowing themselves to be used by kidnappers to perpetrate evil.
Speaking on Thursday during the swearing-in of the new State Executive of the union in Ado Ekiti, the governor, who said he was once a ‘danfo driver’ appealed to the drivers to be orderly and not to be desperate.

95 generals moved in fresh Army shake-up
The Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Tukur Buratai has carried out a massive shake-up in the hierarchy of the Nigerian Army that affected 95 generals. This came as President Muhammadu Buhari declared that Nigeria has taken the International Court of Justice ruling on Bakassi Peninsula in good faith.
The shake-up in the army also included the appointment of new General Officers Commanding the Divisions of the Nigerian Army as well as new Principal Staff Officers to run the affairs of Army headquarters.

United States disappointed with Buhari’s visit
The concealed fragments of President Muhammad Buhari’s exorbitant visit to the United State are beginning to emerge, and stakes are not looking too good. Sources reveal that the White House is completely disappointed about a total lack of preparedness by the Nigerian contingent to discuss vital issues about both countries. Okorocha reads riot act, to sack Imo striking workers
Imo State Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, has ordered the striking civil servants to resume work immediately or risk being summarily sacked.
The Governor read the rio act while addressing some youths, who paid him a solidarity visit at the Government House, Owerri.
While accusing the workers of reneging on the recent agreement it freely entered with the state government, Governor Okorocha also described the current strike as “illegal and would not be tolerated next time”.

Los Angeles bans gun magazines larger than 10 rounds
Los Angeles city council has voted unanimously to ban the possession of large-capacity gun magazines, following San Francisco to become the second major city in California to take that step.
The law prohibits Los Angeles residents from possessing a handgun or rifle magazine that fits more than 10 rounds.
When the new law takes effect, residents will have 60 days to remove, sell or transfer such magazines from city limits in compliance with state law, or surrender them to the Los Angeles police department.

Why petrol stations now sell at different prices ---NUPENG
The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), on Friday, said the disparity in pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS) was due to the loading of the product at different tank farms.
Mr Tokunbo Korodo, the South-West Chairman of the union, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that there were some intermediaries who were adding their own charges to the official price.

Buhari Turns Down Diezani’s Offer To Refund $250 Million From Loot

They were seen enjoying a water-sports session in the crystal Mediterranean waters off the French coast.

Six year old boy escaped near death from his mother
Six-year-old Promise Eboye, should not be alive, at least going by the four gory looking stab injuries on his back. The boy survived an attack that would have killed even an adult had the injuries been sustained in vital parts of the body.
Promise, a bright and sharp boy lives with his mother and step-father in Kollington area of Ijaiye, Lagos, while his biological father lives in Benin, Edo State.
At about 8am on Monday, Promise’s mother, Comfort, stabbed her son four times, inflicting life-threatening injuries on the boy’s body.
