Court to hear Ikpeazu appeal August 9

The Court of Appeal, Abuja, on Tuesday adjourned till August 9, hearing on the appeal filed by Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, challenging the June 27 nullification of his election by a Federal High Court, Abuja.

Justice Morenikeji Ogunwumiju, who led four other judges, said the adjournment was at the instance of all the parties in the matter.

The Senate on Tuesday began the screening of the 47 ambassadorial nominees sent to it by President Muhammadu Buhari for legislative approval.

Buhari had on June 9 sent to the Senate 47 names of Nigerians to be screened and confirmed as career diplomats.

The President, in the letter personally signed by him and dated June 6, 2016, requested the Senate to approve the list at the shortest possible time.

Florida Skinheads Arrested for Preparing for the Race War

Man attacks daughter, after raping 60-yr-old woman in Lagos

Residents of Ibeshe in Ikorodu, Lagos state are currently in a state of shock after a serial rapist attacked and raped a 60-year-old woman, identified simply as Francisca. According to The Punch, the armed man raped and injured the woman stabbing her in the cheek. Her daughter, identified as Marvelous was not left out as he broke her lower jaw and severely injured her right eye. 

The rapist then ran away leaving his victims seriously injured. Kind neighbors rushed them to a hospital nearby, subsequently, Marvelous was referred to the National Orthopedic Hospital, Igbobi, Yaba. Although the suspect’s name is yet to be ascertained, it was revealed that he was an accomplice of a man nicknamed ‘Badoo’ who was recently arrested by the Lagos state police command for rape.
