According to the recent update, the results of the strange illness tagged as #OndoX have arrived, and it is not Ebola virus. The samples also tested negative to five other deadly diseases.

Ailment quick spread generated panic in the area, with many locals seeing spiritual touch in the situation and trying to appease God with the rituals.

The neurologic clinical symptoms include blindness, and loss of consciousness. Those affected die within 24 hours. However, three survivors have so far been registered, Premium Times reports with reference to Ebola Alert.

Meanwhile Olusegun Mimiko, Ondo state governor, on April 17 urged people of the state to adhere to strict demands of hygiene such as regular washing of hands and covering of mouths while sneezing. He assured Ondo residents that the government had started investigations in cooperation with the health bodies to discover the cause of the illness as soon as possible.
