27 killed in Yola market blast

Twenty seven people have been confirmed dead in the bomb blast at the popular Gambo-Jimeta market in Jimeta, Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, confirmed this to journalists in Yola.

The blast occurred at about 7:45pm Thursday close to Zenith Bank along market road.
Meanwhile, the police have cordoned off the area and diverted motorists plying the route. The police also confirmed a suicide bomber was behind the blast.
The scene of the blast is very popular for night buyers and sellers of meat, cooked food and other foodstuffs.
