Court remands two men in prison over N3m

One Gbadebo Olusegun and Femi Alonge have been remanded in prison by a Magistrate Court in Ilorin, Kwara state for alleged breach of trust and defrauding one Agnes Alonge of N3 million.

According to the First Information Report the case was transferred from the Divisional Police Headquarters, Oloje Ilorin, to the Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department on Jan. 24, 2014.

It stated that on April 27, 2013, Agnes Alonge of No: 63 Low Cost Housing Estate, Oloje, Ilorin, reported at the station that she gave her vehicles to Gbadebo Olusegun and Femi Alonge for sale at Port Harcourt.

The two vehicles, Honda pilot jeep and Dunged Caravan were sold but the suspects however refused to remit the money over to Agnes.

The suspects pleaded gulity to the crime and promised to pay the balance. They were granted bail, which they later jumped.

The Police prosecutor, Inspector Mathew Shaye, urged the court to fix another date to enable them get more facts as investigation is in progress.

The magistrate, K.A. Yahaya ordered that the suspects be remanded at the Federal Prison Yard, Oke-Kura and adjourned the case to March 12.
